Da Antonio Italian Restaurant x 7 Senses Gelato: Bringing Italian Character to Every Course
Discover how Chef Antonio brings Italian character to Da Antonio’s dessert menu with 7 Senses Gelato, sharing his thoughts on flavour, quality ingredients, and the finishing touch that makes a meal memorable.

At Da Antonio Italian Restaurant, Italian character runs through the restaurant’s family story, its food, and the experience it hopes to share with every guest. Dessert is part of that experience—and a meaningful reason behind the restaurant’s partnership with 7 Senses Gelato.
In our partner interview, Chef Antonio shared the story behind Da Antonio, what he values about our gelato, and an idea he would like to explore together.
A Family Story, Shared Through Food
Da Antonio’s story began with Chef Antonio’s father, whose experience working in Italy inspired him to open a restaurant in Thailand. His intention was to introduce Italian food to Thai diners and share the flavours he had come to know.
That intention continues to shape the restaurant’s choices, including the desserts it serves. Each addition needs to complement the food and feel at home on the menu.
When Chef Antonio first tasted 7 Senses Gelato, he felt that its flavour and character suited Da Antonio—particularly the sense of Italian authenticity he wanted to offer his guests.
Flavour, Quality Ingredients, and Consistency
Asked what impressed him most about 7 Senses, Chef Antonio pointed first to flavour. He also highlighted the quality of the ingredients and the consistency he experienced each time he tasted the gelato.
For a restaurant, that consistency matters. It gives the team confidence in what they serve and allows returning guests to enjoy the familiar flavours they look forward to.
For Da Antonio, these qualities make 7 Senses Gelato a natural fit for its dessert menu.
A Finishing Touch That Completes the Meal
Chef Antonio explained that Da Antonio uses 7 Senses Gelato in two to three desserts, including limoncello and affogato preparations.
In his experience, the gelato works well with the other elements of these desserts, helping make each dish feel special while bringing the meal to a satisfying close.
This reflects the restaurant’s approach to hospitality: every course contributes to the guest’s experience, right through to the final spoonful.

Familiar Flavours, Meaningful Memories
Chef Antonio also spoke about the gelato’s distinctive flavour and Italian character.
He described how, for some guests who have visited Italy, tasting familiar flavours at Da Antonio can bring back memories of their travels. Together with the restaurant’s atmosphere, the experience can create a comforting sense of familiarity—even a feeling of coming home.
It is a reminder that food can connect a meal in the present with places and moments people remember.
Looking Ahead: An Idea Inspired by Lemon
When discussing a possible future collaboration, Chef Antonio turned to lemon—an ingredient the restaurant uses frequently and values for its refreshing flavour.
He expressed an interest in supporting lemon growers and exploring a gelato collaboration with 7 Senses. The idea would bring together an ingredient closely connected to the restaurant’s menu and an opportunity to develop something new.
It remains an idea for the future, and one we look forward to exploring together.
For 7 Senses Gelato, the partnership with Da Antonio highlights the value of understanding each restaurant’s identity: the flavours it believes in, the details it cares about, and the experience it wants guests to remember. We are pleased to play a part in that experience.
